That reminds me of a situation I saw when I was in high school. One of my friends had a younger sister who when she was fifteen, told her parents FUCK YOU and moved in with a 35 year-old drug dealer.

She ran away for a year and a half, and even though her father was a police officer himself, he couldn't touch the guy. That was because CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES was looking at him asking why he let her go.

I heard recently that she has as many ex-husbands as she does children.

Those child protection laws are real double-edged swords.
