wow, no one mentioned PASSION??? ham-handed movie, great soundtrack. a must for camping trips, Yosemite, deserts, wherever.
and so i'll digress -
i took it to Canyonlands in Utah a few years ago; rented a jeep, threw the overnight gear in tha back, and drove w a a a a y out there, for slow hours upon hours, with 1,500' drop offs on some sides , alarmingly close for any comfort. weather was a bit unsettled, and on top of that the place was very overwhelming in its bigness, dryness, oldness. found a good campsite, dropped some paper and cavorted madly, hugely, spiritually...lightning crackled in the air like dangerous cosmic magic, and all the while the eons it took to make that place seeped in..! got back to camp at dusk, got the fire and candle lanterns going, threw that disc on, and felt rather nomadic and downright Bedouin if not Afghani or something, mixed in with a great kinship and love for the entire the human race. okay, coulda been the you-know-whats...but PASSION speaks for itself, in any state! it was the perfect album for that moment, nothing else would have come close.
we had the PASSION SOURCES disc, too, as well as a Ten Years of Real World mix disc they put out, with Papa Wembe and many other quality yet unpronoucable acts (hyuk). still, you can't beat 10 cool tunes for a dime apiece, and we got way more than our money's worth out outta em, believe you me, Buster Buddy Bob. it was church!
too bad the movie (Last Temptation of, uh...what's that guys name again?) actually kinda sucked.
