Joni spent part of her childhood growing up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Approx. 10 years ago About ten years ago, I was back in Saskatoon for a visit. On the day I was flying home, my grandparents came to the airport to see me off. The wandered off to say hi to some " friends of theirs. "My eyes are wandering and whom do I see my grandparents chatting with, Joni Mitchell, also visiting family. After they finished the cordials, I dove in. They referred to her as " that little Joni Anderson", her pre-marriage name. As it turns out, her family lived across the back fence from my grandparents, so dad went to high school with her. To this day I am not sure my family has any concept of how well known "that little Joni Anderson" is. God bless 'em...
