I watched that movie this past week and was also surprised to hear Bitter Tree...it fit nicely.  The book from which the movie came was about a suit against tabacco companies but was changed to gun manufacturers.  I dunno...if the logic of going after gun manufacturers holds up should we also start going after the producers of Budweiser, Miller, Gallo, etc when alcohol is involved in someone's demise?  I don't think so.  It comes down to personal responsiblity in the end and we seem to be moving away from that in our society.  That's unfortunate and will only weaken us as a people.
