I would certainly say it may be best to find something new to photograph. My dad has been a long time photographer of trains. He still does it and I don't believe he's had any issues so far. He's photographed stuff all over the US and Canada. I remember as a boy he'd drag me along sometimes and we'd hike for miles into the woods out in the middle of nowhere and wait for hours to photograph a train entering or leaving a tunnel...or catch one crossing a bridge or trestle...or passing some scenic vista. I always wondered how the hell he found all those places. The trips were always very quiet too...my dad being a man of few words much of the time...sometimes all I'd get would be "Alright, let's head back." once he'd got the shot.
