Here's my two cents...
Song of the Year :
"Hurt" Johnny Cash - Trent doesn't own this anymore.
Album of the Year :
"Hail to the Thief" Radiohead - Just great stuff - I heard the same 'Noise' comments from people when I played Pink Floyd in the 70's.
You got it all wrong Album of the Year :
"Rock & Roll" Ryan Adams - This one got hammered in the press - By people who were waiting for Heartbreaker II. Adams delivered that, but lost highway wouldn't put it out - said it was too depressing - go figure. So Adams goes into a two week snit in the studio and hands lost highway a blatently commercial album - as the 'victim' of track 5 would say "F*cking Brilliant".
Back on track Album of the Year :
"Identity Crisis" Shelby Lynne - The styles may be all over the map, but it's all her - not some producer.
Concert of the Year : Raidiohead
They came out, and just PLAYED - I haven't had that much fun listening to music years.
Runner up Concert of the Year: Shelby Lynne
In a club with less than 100 people in attendance, she came and played her heart out. That voice is the same clear presence live as on record.
Dissapointment of the Year: Dave Davies toured - Ray Davies didn't.
