Dale brings up a few huge differences between the dems and repubs...For one, when the most unpopular of scumbags are accused or charged with a terrible crime, out goes the Constitution or rule of law. Dems want to keep it for two main resons: One, is that we realize that if the scummiest of scumbags has rights, then the most innocent of us will never have to worry and second,
that the main goal is to CONVICT the bastard with no hope of overturning such a verdict. Look at Padilla in Illinois. Hell, if that guy is guilty he will probably walk because of the over zealous government blew it. And I'll be that the remaining man involved in 9/11 is never convicted or if so, it will be overturned. The other night on one of the news channels, can't recall which (ABC, NBC or CBS) the story reported that of all terrorist convictions in the US since 9/11, the average sentence was 7, yes, SEVEN days. And this wasn't a story about one or two suspects, but nearly a hundred. My point is, give these people their day in court, convict them properly so their sentence will be properly carried out. Quit cutting corners. I see this all the time and stand by and watch asshole after asshole not even charged because of fundamental mistakes, mainly out of laziness or stupidity. On to meat....as DeWester mentioned (and as I mentioned months and months ago) pick up Fast Food Nation. It will be abundantly clear that this meat business is caused more by money, influence and the Republican party. FDA inspectors have been cut and cut and cut at the behest of the food industry and most of the money from the food industry has been going into Republican pockets. And if the meat industry pays for all this, just who is next in line to actually pay for their failings? Yes, the consumer. Lastly, Dean is not all about anger and this is where he is being greatly underestimated and I hope the right keeps on doing this. For example, a large portion of Americans don't even know who Dean is, and he is only behind by about 18 points when compared to a very well known American president. And this is a year out. So Dale, keep on underestimating Dean and when we see him taking that oath in 05.......
