So here's some bands I think have recently been making good "albums"...meaning rock records that to me have a flow and hold my interest all the way through...glove smelling good stuff...or as a friend has said to me "music with a bunch of weird noises and shit added":
Wilco- "Being There" and "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" seem to express the sheer joy of making records.
Radiohead- Whenever "Kid A" and "OK Computer" come on I want to listen to the whole record all the way through.
The Flaming Lips- "The Soft Bulletin" and "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots" are huge explosions of creativity in my book. Music is like a giant playground to these guys and they are fingerpainting every inch of it in crazy dayglo colors.
Beck- "Sea Change" is my favorite record he's done so far.
Los Lobos- Along with their own stuff they have has a load of side projects like The Latin Playboys...really cool stuff.
Joe Henry- The guy just keeps making great records that seem to be prettty much ignored. I mean does anyone even know he put out a new record about a month ago.
