Willis:Yes --- I have EVERYTHING that PG has ever done --- including all
the film scores --- three films --- that he has done over the years. Here are the film scores he has done:01) Birdy (1985)02) Passion (1989)03) Long Walk Home (2002)In fact --- on his GROWING UP tour of 2002-2003 --- he used
these pieces as audience entrance music over the PA before the
lights went down.Since you are asking about LONG WALK HOME --- this is an
amalgam of textures and voices and some pretty excellent
percussion underlying some of the best guitar work that David
Rhodes has ever done in the studio. This CD is similar to the PASSION disc --- which PASSION is my all
time favorite CD of PG's. LONG WALK HOME is essentially the same core unit that recorded UP
--- with the following guest performers:01) The Blind Boys of Alabama02) London Session Orchestra03) Electra Strings04) The Dhol Foundation (percussion unit)05) ShankarIn addition to that --- it features a cross-section of the REAL
WORLD world music label artists. If you have heard PASSION or own it (and like THAT style) then this
is more along those lines. However, if you are looking to hear
SLEDGEHAMMER type music --- you might want to pass this one by.The sound sources you mentioned were part of the sonic pastiche,
and it is some excellent stuff. I use this type of music for writing
sessions and also for meditation. These three film scores do not feature lyrics, and are all
instrumental.I hope this helps, or at least answers your questions. One of the reasons why I love PG so much is that he is adventurous
in terms of what he is willing to do. That makes it much more
interesting to listen to. The fact that he can do BOTH styles such as
SHOCK THE MONKEY and PASSION makes PG high up on my list of
musicians I appreciate the most. PG never disappoints! Also, since they appear on this CD (and UP) I would also recommend
The BLIND BOYS OF ALABAMA --- great stuff! Buy their CD's as well!P.S. - PG has also just released his second greatest hits CD in the
USA. It is a 2-CD affair called HIT (the 2nd disc is called MISS). It is
29 songs, of which TEN SONGS are new or previously unreleased
--- making for 50 minutes of new material.HIT also contains the remix of SKY BLUE which is on the GROWING
UP LIVE DVD --- on one of the menus. The song is called
CLOUDLESS.KDB = Buffalo, NY USA
