Both of those films are great --- but my personal favorite PADDY CHAYEFSKY (novel AND film) is a little interesting gem called ALTERED STATES . . .

This is the one about the experiments in the isolation tank starring William Hurt, Blair Brown, and the great character actor Bob Balaban, who is himself in something like 100 films.

From the DVD package:

I have seen this DVD as cheap as $7.99 --- it is one of my personal faves!
