Well...so I got the DVD's of the Indiana Jones Trilogy. I was perplexed because it came with 4 discs rather than three. I thought maybe the 4th disc was a movie that I missed in the 90's when I was so busy (drinking) that I might have missed it. BUT, it was special features looking at special effects, music, editing and story development. Good thing I'm into that because if I wasn't, that 4th disc would be a COASTER by now.
Where many movies are released with dozens of deleted scenes, there were no such treats/wastes of film here. You get the films, digitally remastered, 5.1 sound (wish I had that...it would be cool) and that's pretty much it. Which tells me that George and Steve were pretty happy with the final product...or they burned the contents of the editing room garbage can.
My MAIN disappointment is that it is lacking the voice-over track that many films have where the director/producer and sometimes actors talk about the development of the film while it's playing. But the fourth disc covers a great deal of that material so my disappointment is not deeply seeded.
So...I'll give it 3.5 Melting Nazi Heads out of a possible 4.
It's good to be back,
PRH
