If I remember correctly, I think the way I heard about Jackson Frank was back when there was an explosion of interest in Nick Drake because they used Pink Moon in a car commercial I read something that mentioned there were other poorly exposed folk singers that people should pay attention to and one of the names the article brought up was Jackson Frank. So, I went and searched him out. I believe I have one of his CDs but it is packed up. I liked the record I heard quite a bit, but I think you are correct, in the moment, that was all I could find. 

It's funny to think back on it because before the internet, if I was looking for something, and it was something hard to find, I would go in and visit the record shops in Cambridge because if someone would have it, it would be them. Pretty certain that was where I got the Jackson Frank disc. Now, I think most of the record shops are gone. I did see something recently that CDs are making a comeback...and I thought, where? 

I'm in the market for a new car and none of the new cars have CD players in them. Yeah, so many things that make me feel like I am sitting on the side of the road of life, big tractor trailer trucks rushing by, and I sit there feeling the breeze and choking on dust, wondering where the hell I am.
