In the beginning, sure, Biden had to, absolutely had to support Israel and what Bibi was doing. They were attacked, they are our ally, they had to be allowed to defend themselves. Hostages were taken, that had to be resolved, violence was coming, we all knew it. How bad it would get would be up to Bibi and his party.
If Biden had an option to just stop him, to press a button or put a foot down, he would have used that option. This is the problem, there wasn't one, no foot, no button. You may think there was, but I can guarantee you it was not there. They would have used it had it been there because it would have not only stopped some of the death, in the long run, it would have helped in the election process and stopped a lot more death.
If he had a "foot down" option, we would have seen it. Biden, being a pretty normal politician, went the diplomacy route and in doing so, honored deals that were in place while trying to negotiate a ceasefire. In all honesty, that's what they had to work with. His administration was working on that 24/7. I'm not saying this to be an apologist for Biden, I no longer have anything to apologize for, Harris lost, this war was a part of that loss...probably at best 4th or 5th on the list, but it added to it.
If most of those MAGA folks will support doing nothing to prevent kids in this country getting shot up while at school, well, bombing, starving, and denying medicine to kids in the Middle East or anywhere else in the world, is certainly fine with them. They are more wrapped up in issues like egg prices, transgender people playing sports, thinking they can send their kid to school one sex and have them come home another, and driving migrants out of the country. Add in taxes, jobs, if you should take a vaccine, just doing things that "own the libs" and Mick, dead Palestinians are way, way down on their list. They don't care, man.
Nobody deserved this though. This is not about what was deserved, and to say the Americans deserved this is to say the Palestinians deserve what they are getting...which is totally removed. I believe Bibi just said something recently about the idea they are not leaving and those 2 million, or however many survive, Palestinians that lived in Gaza are being relocated to other countries and the Don and Bibi luxury resort area is happening. That's not deserved either.
Americans here don't understand it because they are fed so much nonsense and choose to believe it. The rest of the country, which is most of the population, don't deserve this.
I do have to say, calling Joe Biden "genocidal Joe" was one of the more despicable tactics but it was great for the Trump side to use, it was a potent nickname. Vlad loved it, Bibi loved it. It worked with college kids. It helped divide people in the US. Well played. I did not hear Trump given a nickname when one of the first things he did after his reelection was have Hegseth go on TV with Bibi and tell him "Whatever weapons or bombs you want, anything at all, you've got it!" brilliant that.
We're in a sad place right now, as a country, as a planet. I think one saying we've had to come to terms with is don't let the perfect spoil the practical...but we are letting that happen, in spades.
