People will ask me "But is there a bright side, Reg? Do you see a bright side? Give me some optimism. Please!"

And I want to give people optimism, I want to hand out hope like it is Halloween candy. I really do. I really, really do. 

So, what I say, have been saying with this tariff mess is, while this will be bad, it will cost all of us money, it will be a major issue for families nationwide...it may be the thing that, I think it will, turn many Trump voters against him.

I get it, we live in a time when truth and facts don't matter to, I guess 75 million people. You can't get through to them with words, with explanations, with facts...they have decided not to listen to these things, to instead follow what they want to believe. Every one, every person, whether they are a politician, a person in the media, a guy like me, a friend, a co-worker, a family member, an acquaintance, whatever, if they say something that they don't like, that they don't want to believe, no matter how true or factual, well, they now just block it out. 

That's really what the abortion thing is, it is an issue they use to isolate themselves and mark other people as someone they do not have to listen to. If you are for a woman's right to get an abortion if she needs to, feels it is what is best for her, well...you are a baby killer and who needs to listen to a person that will kill babies. No matter what you say, no matter how many fact you display for them...nope, you are a baby killer and you back baby killing so, not a word you say matters. 

It literally covering your ears and making noise so you can't hear the other person. That's all Pat was doing when he told David that it all comes down to abortion. Obviously that argument makes no sense at all, because with all the issues we have to deal with, abortion is not related to ANY OF THEM. So, you can't, well you can and people do, cover your ears and just scream baby killers, when we are trying to solve a whole bunch of problems that have nothing to do with abortion. 

Frankly, that is just fucking stupid. Epically stupid. It means these people should be escorted from the room where the people that are trying to fix the problem are working. 

So my hope, the hope candy I was trying to give out was, OK, yeah, these people will block out the words but what about numbers. The numbers in their own bank account, their own retirement account, the prices they are being forced to pay. The money they lost already because of the tariffs and the uncertainty they have created because they can change at any second so there are NO STABLE PRICES. So, companies, people, nobody can really budget for anything nor forecast costs and expenses or predict profits because that entire system, which was centered on creating stability, is now destroyed and is now driven by chaos.

You can block out the words, but the NUMBERS are going to make it real for them. The empty shelves will make it real for them. The loss of jobs and collapsing finances will make it real for them...because nobody has to tell them...THEY WILL SEE THE NUMBERS...they will have to cope with that reality. They will see small businesses closing, people losing jobs, empty storefronts...because regular people, they will be crushed by the tariffs and won't be able to keep up. 

Who does not care about this? Who is telling you that you must suffer? Well, Musk said it all along really. Trump now, because you can't hide from it now, is now saying it as well. You will need to suffer, give things up, you must pay more, you are not being given a choice, it is an order, and if you struggle and lose everything, he says he does not care...that is what was meant to happen to you, that was the plan, and it is going perfectly. So, if you have to be laid off, close your business, sell your home, of just lose it...so what. Trump is now open with the fact that, this was his plan and you voted for it, so you are getting what you deserve. 

He and his rich pals don't care, it barely impacts them if a 12 pack of diet coke goes from 6 bucks to 25 dollars over night, they will still get theirs and hey, fuck you pal, you voted for this. 

My thought, my hope candy if you will, was that this will impact people, the MAGA loons, to the extent that they will change course, realize the problem, and DUMP TRUMP and MAGA, probably the dumbest and most harmful political movement we have ever had in the history of this country. 

Then I talk to a guy like the guy I posted about. The company he works for is down 50% in revenue and it is all Trump's fault and he, in an epic fit of total stupidity...wants to create his own fantasy.

Now, I am not friends with this guy, I don't know what any of his personal beliefs are, but whatever they are, how does he miss the simple numbers?

I guess I was also horrified because on the radio they were interviewing people on the street, and they asked this one woman, "How much more are you willing to pay for your goods and groceries to support Trump and his tariffs? 25% more?"

"Oh yes!" she says.

"50% more?"

"Oh yes! I would pay that."

"100% more?" the reporter asks.

"Oh yes, I would pay 100% more to support Trump! Absolutely!"

What a fucking moron, is my first thought. My second thought is these are the same people that voted Biden out because of grocery costs. This was the giant issue, and then ridding the country of anybody that is not white.

Now, some of these nuts are saying, they are claiming, for Trump, they don't care if their costs double. WTF!

My feeling is, this is a lie. They like saying it but when the rubber hits the road, they are not going to like losing money and paying more. They are not going to like finding out that when they used to pay $100.00 for their groceries, they now have to pay twice that. The reality is not going to jibe with their idiotic support of Donald Trump absolutely screwing them and telling them "This is what you wanted! Enjoy!"
