Icon It is a performance to demonstrate cruelty and set an example, why we should try not to hate

I believe that making us hate each other is part of the goal. So, is a person that supports the display of cruelty we are seeing loathsome? Yes, of course. We need to rise above that though and I know it is not easy.

I have to be honest, I don't think the demonstrations of cruelty are what will turn most of the people that support Trump. They should, but sadly, I think unhappy and suffering people want to see others made more unhappy and to suffer more than them. That gives them some degree of satisfaction even if it strips them of their own rights in the process.

For us as a country, well, there is no way to recover or to get better if we hate 75 million people that live here with us. The Trump/MAGA world relies on this hate, deeply desires it, and promotes the hell out of it. My personal take is, don't give it to them. Don't give them what they want.

These supposed "mistakes" that are being made, snatching people off the street and shipping them off to a foreign prison when they have not had an opportunity to defend themselves...and this has included college kids...these are not mistakes. This is how you do this, you make examples of people, and making an example of someone that has not been shown to be guilty, not giving them a chance to even defend themselves...well...that's the best kind of example. If you can punish someone that is innocent, you are showing off your POWER. These are not mistakes and the EXAMPLES are likely to get bigger and bigger and more and more innocent.

Trump has his personal vendetta list, we know who is on it, politicians, judges, counter terrorism agents, media people, authors...he will if allowed to continue down this road, make an example of them. The message will be simple, cross me, tell the truth about me, and you can be shipped off to a prison in another country and never seen nor heard from again.

The plan is always to start with the easiest targets, then go after the others once you have set your precedent.
