It appears that there were people that knew in advance, and obviously this includes Trump, his family, friends, cronies, that he would suspend tariffs for 90 days before the announcement came and knew exactly what and when to buy. Interesting, someone put it "Trump has discovered he has a lever he can pull to make loads of cash at the expensive of others, expect him to use it." 

It is true, as president his words impact the market, can cause it to fall and rise based on his tariff announcements. It lost trillions of dollars for people, but if you are the person controlling the tariffs, you know exactly when to buy or sell. 

Makes these tariff announcements not so stupid for him personally, he and whomever he chooses to bring in on it could make boatloads of cash knowing the plan in advance. 

Would a president of the United States crush the people of his own country for personal profit? This one would, there is no doubt about that.
