I can't disagree with you.  What I'm wondering is if you need the genuinely raving madman or frothing carnival barker to keep the crypto-fascist roadshow going.  In the state and congressional races it seemed like Trump's formula was more difficult to replicate (thank god).  I am probably being naive but I hope and pray DD has a sui generis combo of crazy and charisma and its galvanizing ability won't survive his political grave.
