The words 'Alpha and omega' are supposed to have meant, 'The Beginning and the End' - there's no read on your personal credo in there.

You seem not to grasp (or not to *want* to grasp) that there's also the spirit of the law... whilst you squealed over the fact that the Canadian Border is being tightened (from the letter of the law) you completely passed over the fact that terrorists have free entry to the country. The spirit of the law might say that even though the founding fathers and MLK didn't factor in the possibility of national terrorism from Islamic fundamentalists in 2001, that isn't a good enough reason to leave the border open and defenses down so 3000 more human beings could be murdered by these fuckers.
While you see a conspiracy on every corner, and use a former Coventry City goalkeeper and BBC Sports reporter as your Messiah to back this up, I'd be willing to wager that both you, David, Andrea and Mick will all be card-carrying members of the Limbaugh-right before the 'evil US government' takes its head out of its ass and presses the '4th Reich' upon us. Just because there's a FOIA and an internet doesn't mean that absolute power has only been corrupting absolutely for the years you were paying attention.
