Been reading this board for quite some time now and my curiosity peaked when this post was inserted. Not the post itself that caught me but rather the responses. I admit i always crack a little smile when when i open the page and see the familiar KentDB741. I know that this means there will be discussion for the next couple of days. When I opened this particular post I thought that it was a very interesting quote, however unattainable I feel it is in our society today. Not sure that faith and love really connect as I am sure they once did, maybe some day I will see it but I haven't yet.
Then irishcornboy pops in with an unintelligible response and makes a fool of himself. I too am a "rocovering catholic" (best thing my parents could have ever done was send me to a catholic school, God bless them for the lessons they taught me)but i do realize that this quote has absolutely nothing to do with Catholicism or organized religion in general. Rather it has to do with optimism in a world full of pessimism. It has to do with the concept of humanity and a never-ending positive belief that there is hope for this world and its inhabitants.
Then came maddog chiming in in response to ignorance by trying to be a bully. Real cool! Maddog if you have the right to post what you said then so does irishcornboy. I also notice that looking back through the board you have not responded to any of KentDB741's other "interesting" posts and claims. I am interested in reading what your responses would be to his claims. Will you ask him to remove himself from the board when his thoughts irritate you? Could it be that you feel you are securing your "ticket To "Heaven"" by bullying someone whom stepped up to the plate and spoke negatively about a quote from a religious figure. If that is the case I recommend doing some research of your own, because i don't think words alone will get you to your "Heaven" , it is what you have inside that will prepare your application for the afterlife.
