: Then what IS the truth, in your opinion, and how do I know if what YOU say is true? Seems to me like you had a perfectly good opportunity to state your opinions/beliefs and didn't.

Debbie, could it have been that maybe David was trying to leave it behind him, not stirring, the burning embers?
This all makes for great drama, which is why VH1 produces this kind of programming. I think
Sheryl Crow was caught up in the whole music Industry fame game and was willing to step on established talent in order to get her own noticed. Fame and fortune can do peculiar things to individuals who dream of nothing but achieving that status. The bottom line is that TNMC was a group effort, and a lot of talented individuals contributed, and left their mark on that record. Maybe A&M saw it as cheaper to produce a solo act, Sheryl had talent + sex appeal, therefore the others were disposable (They already had the incredible product). The voids on stage could be filled with unknown, unthreatening musicians to Crowe's rising star(I'm not stating the touring musicians were not credible)
I saw that tour! How cool, would it have been if they had toured together? performing the material they had all contributed to? Seems a shame to me.
Baerwald, Ricketts and Bottrell, Gilbert are the reasons I bought TNMC in the first place. I have fond memories of that record but if not for those involved in the writing and recording of that project how many of us would know who Sheryl Crow was in the first place?, Honestly? All I'm saying really is that there was a reason we were all drawn to that record and Sheryl Crow as talented as she has become, certainly didn't deserve that initial core of her success alone. She had help, She had alot a F%3@*~! talented assistance. A&M knew who to surround her with, to get noticed.
I wasn't there, but this is how it all appears to me.
