David,
tell us about
working with David Botrill, Yesterday I heard an interesting new single from Tool with his signature production behind it,
it felt very familiar, wasn't it Botrill who produced the alternate "Black Mamba Kiss"? Who was in that lineup?, can you put it out there or are there strings? By the way, how difficult would it be to make the second run of "AFM" to include that version and make them unique in that regard? Also, one of the most brilliant pieces of music off of "Triage" happens to be, i n m y h o n e s t o p i n i o n "Born For Love", something about that soaring solo concentrate with emotion, an overwhelming display, simply accompanied by that swirling organ, always reminded me as homage to Robert Fripp, was it?
Here's a bit about another DB (David Botrill):
Progressive rock is not dead, its just been sitting on the shelf for
a while. Prog-rock fans can rejoice in the news that Tool will be
teaming up with the legendary King Crimson for at least seven
dates on Tools upcoming North American tour. Although specific
dates have not been announced, the shows will likely take place
in August. A connecting thread for the two groups is producer
David Botrill, who worked on both Tools 1996 album, Aenima,
and the groups forthcoming disc, Lateralus (due May 15th); as well as three King Crimson albums, the most recent being 1995s Dinosaur>(THRAK?)
