Everyone else is posting their numbers, so i felt the uncontrollable urge to follow through. Just got back from a vacation today, checked my mail first thing, ripped open the envelope, turned on the CDs and lay in bed listening. I started off somewhat impressed, and ended up reeling at how masterful it is. How many albums being made today not only have no bad songs to speak of, but present the songs in order to create an emotional progression from start to finish? Heartfelt tunes, catchy dance riffs, great instrumental parts, beautiful lyrics, and a real sense of direction the whole way through. Bravo.
As for Tamajinn's Sheryl Crow question, maybe the stuff with her on backup was recorded before the disagreements broke out....if Kevin Gilbert's on the disc, obviously some of the stuff was recorded a while back. But that's all speculation on my part.
There are too many songs in the set for me to discuss right now, and I'm sure all of you have read enough of my ramblings, but I just want to say that having gone through a painful breakup 4 months ago, "Love #29" hits so amazingly close to home that it makes me want to shake my bootie and cry at the same time. Hope you're all as ecstatically thrilled with this set as I am, and maybe I'll post more once other people start posting opinions, and once I stop bouncing off the walls.
