Thank you, David.  As always, thoughtful and replete with examples (chilling as they may be).  I'd have little to add but when I think of the social media propaganda I'm reminded of my favorite quote “We do not measure a culture by its output of undisguised trivialities but by what it claims as significant.”   It does seem the norms have been eroded where "owning the libs" and other efforts to promulgate a political "brand" have mercilessly obliterated this tenuous line for what is sacred that we truly are amusing ourselves to death; tech bros leading the charge.
