They definitely only hear what they want to hear. Down the final stretch of Trump's campaign, he and his team just openly said to people in the media, "Don't fact check us!" and if they did, he would no longer talk to them.

I thought that was going to backfire in a huge way. Just openly saying "Let us tell our lies and do not question them."

It totally pissed off team Trump when the guy on ABC, David Muir, called Trump out on the "eating the cats and dogs" nonsense. You could see Trump was furious about that. He was all about "Let me lie and just shut up! These lies are not for you, they are for my followers!"

We once lived in a time where people would say "Go ahead and fact check me!" because showing someone was telling the truth by fact checking them strengthened their position, let people know you were honest, and what you were saying could be trusted.

Now, we live in a time when 75 million people will vote for a guy that openly says "Do not fact check me!" and his followers yell "Yeah, don't fact check him!"

They not only hear what they want, they demand to only hear what they want and think it is a negative thing if the media fact checks someone.

I just am totally lost. How did we get so upside down?

We've actually got half the country saying "Fuck ABC, they fact check stuff!"

Really? I don't know how to make a dent in that.
