Icon The ballad of unintended consequences

It is said that over the course of history that things that people did often had unintended consequences, where they will say "I did not think that would happen when we did that." and some horrible tragedy occurs.

I think people are going to be singing this ballad a lot because Trump and his team of horrendous people have not thought through the consequences of what they are doing or say they are doing. Trump often speaks about things as if they are going to happen but has no actual plan to get to where he intends to go.

Sounds great, I guess, to say you are going to build a massive wall or deport millions of people from the country but it is one thing to say these things, another thing entirely to accomplish them. Of course, he does not care really about accomplishing these things, he just cares about the impact saying them will have. He also never considers that some things you really should not say out loud, which I guess makes him appear honest to some people but just makes him appear really stupid to others.

There is a scene in The Godfather where Vito (Brando) chastises Sonny (Caan) for saying out loud in front of a potential enemy the things that the family may have been thinking. This is a lesson Trump never learned.

Donald wants to be the brilliant mob boss, all these politicians in his pocket, but he does not know when to speak and when to listen. He's all bluster and ego...no common sense.

I had a bunch of other stuff I was going to write here, but it was all terribly dark and disgusting. About what it will mean if Trump and his team of scum start arresting and/or executing military leaders. Trump and his lowlifes speak out loud about this. They don't hide it. It is meant to be an open threat, to get generals that will be "Hitler's generals" that will turn the guns of our defenders, our military, on US citizens.

However, I think it was tremendously stupid to speak about this plan, not to mention just a horrible betrayal of our military and most of all, our country. This is what we will have to count on, that Trump is a stupid man, that his team can't see through their greed and lust for power and will make a lot of mistakes. Mistakes that will slow them down. Mistakes that can be used against them.

There will be a lot of people singing the ballad of unintended consequences though and it won't be a good thing.
