I think his election did impact all of us, the things you mention were all fallout from him getting elected. The crimes he is being charged with in this case, he committed those crimes to hide what he did from his own supporters. I don't think they had an impact on his election. The tape with him saying he could grab women by the pussy had already come out, his supporters did not care and it did nothing to discourage them from voting for him. The Republican party considered for about 30 seconds not supporting but then they all fell in line. If it had come out in a big way, and it sort of was already known info, that he had been sleeping with porn stars and playmates...his fans would not have cared, He says he thinks it would impact women but the women that voted for him had already heard him on tape saying he liked to grab women by the pussy, kiss them whether they wanted it or not, and had heard him say he walked backstage at a teen beauty contest because he wanted to check out the naked young girls. They knew what he was, knowing he banged a porn star and a playmate would not have meant anything to his fans. They know even more about him now, that he incited an attack on our capitol, that he lies to them constantly, none of it pushes them away from voting for him. The lies and crimes and the cover-up were all aimed at his voters. All I am saying is his voters want to be fooled and lied to because that is more comfortable for them than facing reality.

I'm not saying let him off, convict him of a felony, give him house arrest, let him serve his sentence at one of his residences. While plenty of people know Trump belongs in a jail cell, putting him in one probably makes him a martyr.
