So, sure, Trump is not in office, but he can pick-up the phone and call a bunch of people that are and just tell them what he wants done...which oddly is what Putin wants done. And they do it. How weird is that?
They just tried to impeach Biden by working with a guy that is a Russian spy, he was just arrested. They knew he worked for the Russians and worked with him anyway. So, yeah, Putin has people in the US government that are working for him. Hello, Jim Jordan, Jim Comer, Marge Greene, Ron Johnson, I won't list them all. It's a total mess.
