The power in our government is meant to be separated, split into the different branches. So, the president has power, but generally in terms of wars, or how we conduct ourselves with allies, he is supposed to have support from our Congress and not act on his own. He is supposed to uphold and fulfill whatever deals that were made with our allies prior to him becoming president. 

Biden has been in politics a very long time. He is a long time supporter of Israel, no question, however he does not support what Israel is doing now. He basically must say that Israel has to be able to defend herself from terrorist attacks. He would say the same about any ally. That's got to be the open public statement, if he did not say that, he would end up in a lot of hot water and people would slaughter him from a variety of sides. 

However, Biden's longevity in politics tells us he knows nothing in politics is personal. That's not how you make decisions. Biden is a boring vanilla politician, he does not take wild swings. It is one of the reasons he has been effective and why so many politicians from both sides once liked him. Now we just have this all out war in our political system where Republicans have decided that whatever a Democrat wants to do, they will say no to. It is why the Biden administration has decided to actually agree to policy stuff the Republicans promoted under Trump. He's calling their bluff. You want a border deal? Write it, I'll sign it into law. He gave it to them on a silver platter...they took a shit on the platter. 

Yes, we look like a joke right now but the vast majority of that is because the Republicans have decided obstructionist politics is the way to go. They don't even agree with each other. It is the biggest joke we have going. 

So, what you are seeing, Mick, is just massive dysfunction which is just churning up turmoil...intentionally. Yeah, Republicans turn every suggestion into a fight, which slows down how quickly our government can act. They blocked Biden filling important positions in our military just to create a total clusterfuck. Intentionally trying to harm and destroy our own military...which they claim to love. 

So, we have Bibi and Putin going full steam ahead killing people and our Congress trying to block anything getting done about it so everything looks to be happening super slow, so that a guy like you, sitting in the Shire just thinks, "Jesus, this Biden guy can't get a fucking thing done and kids are being slaughtered in Gaza!"

I'm not thrilled by the idea that there are people in the media that revel in pushing that out to the masses.
