The thing I can't get past, maybe a weakness in how I see things, I don't really know but our homegrown fascist/authoritarian/kleptocratic movement is just so...well...stupid. I'm not letting my guard down or anything like that but Mussolini was a hell of a lot smarter than Trump. We definitely have all the societal rifts in place, we have a populace buried in misinformation, we have people that want to utilize brute force and violence to achieve their goals. We have vast swaths of corruption in several layers of government. 

OK, the stage is set and the frontman in this case is...Donald Trump. A truly unholy and unpredictable moron. He enjoys surrounding himself with morons and we are suffering a large group of morons in Congress that do his absolutely asinine bidding. 

I guess John Bolton was asked yesterday or the day before if Trump could pull it off, if he could achieve his fantasy of becoming America's Kim Jong Un, or I guess they asked Bolton if he could become a Julius Caesar and I don't understand that, I think they meant Caligula, and Bolton's response was "Of course not he's too stupid." 

Everybody that has worked in Trump's inner circle knows he is ridiculously dumb. Has never read a book, knows nothing of history, is not interested in anything, and really has no political philosophy whatsoever...he just thinks about himself, thinks of the world in terms of himself, and just loved the way Kim Jong Un's people jump to attention and grovel when he speaks. So, what he took from meeting Kim was, he told his people he wants exactly what Kim has...which of course is because Kim's people know they will be executed if they don't do that. Trump wants to be seen as a deity that has no anus and people worship him or die. This truly is as deep as the man gets. 

I guess what I am asking is, do you guys think I am missing something here because as shitty as this MAGA movement is, it is epically stupid.
