I agree that the bulk of liberals are not like that.  But there are a significant minority that are, and they have power.  This is where my pronounced disdain for the Clintons and the DLC (and their funders) come into play.  Refer back to my tale of the 11th district shenanigans' for a refresher.  I did not see that video as divisive, but as a warning.  Those in power will often take the easy way, not ruffle the feathers, so to speak.  But with the massive societal inequalities we have, that's really not an option if we want to see a real change in our society.  Income must be redistributed back to the middle class and below if we are to live in an equitable society.  The justice system must be reformed to work for all of us, not just the white guys who can afford the best lawyers.  I could go on about any number of issues, but you can see where I'm going.  But honestly, can you see our current crop of rich white oligarchs being up for that?  You know, the ones who fund BOTH parties?  The ones who OWN the country (to paraphrase George Carlin) ?

I fully agree tRump will be (and was) an absolute disaster - he must be defeated and it will take a unified front to do that. No argument, I'm down for it. After that, the dregs of the MAGA movement must be dealt with.  This election cycle will probably end the Republican party as we know it - what rises from the ashes may be the two factions as separate parties, both much diminished in power.  The traditional Republicans will get the bulk of the conservative movement, while the MAGAts round out to about 10 - 20% of the old republican party.  But, while this reconstruction goes on, where will the corporate donations go?  Where will the moneyed class go to gain influence?  The DLC (republican lite) and their ilk. Once that happens, we'll be right back where we started, Gilded Age 2.0.
