The point is we just don't freaking know what is happening in these undoubtedly fraught and beyond top secret discussions. Stuff like this, it's like looking for a black hole in the universe--you can't see it because it eats light, so you can only tell it's there by what happens with the objects affected by the black hole's gravitational pull. I do know that the entire world is holding their breath until it sees where everything is going.
