Democracy does depend on a set of gentleman's agreements and the idea that the majority of us agree on what is right and wrong, moral and ethical, and that we abide by these agreements.
Yeah, that leaves some pretty large holes in it IF you encounter someone like Trump. A person that is not a gentleman and does not agree on what is right and wrong and is without ethics and morals. He and his pals are well aware of that weakness and have taken full advantage of it.
It does not mean though, that it is a broken system. It means that somehow, within that system, we need to identify how to control a person like Trump.
I don't think there is any issue with criticizing democracy, or Joe Biden, or any political party. Through criticism you evaluate and hopefully find solutions.
Maybe some of us seem too focused on Trump over other things that are occurring in the world but I think what we are trying to say is if we don't solve the Trump problem, all our other problems will rapidly get worse. We will lose the opportunity to solve anything and that would likely take decades to tackle with an outcome that would be devastating.
