I still a big fan of the Men of Rockford, and it pains me to say it, but Special One is, in my opinion, really , sadly weak.

I played it for about a week after I got it and then had to admit to myself that this album was made to please somebody, I'm just not sure who. There is no spark or even a hint of their power or sense of humor.

The part that kills me is that they're last album, named Cheap Trick and released on the now defunct Red Ant label in 97 , was maybe one of their best records ever. The chance for the momentum to get them a twilight hit....squashed.Follow this link to sample some of that album from their site

I am still a fan but I am gonna forget they did Special One & Woke Up with a Monster. Otherwise a brilliant pop catalog.

thats my 2 cents.
