Icon Never knowing what is missing and RFK Jr.

Well, the Fourth was mostly a rainout. Now everyone is coming over this weekend. This is fine because the fireworks near me are this Saturday anyway. You and Dan and anyone else that would like to travel is welcome to stop by, the grill will be on, people are bringing food, there is a pool to swim in, fireworks on Saturday night. A real rip-roaring day and night of old school Americana.

I do know the fog sent the sun missing when I was in Maine. So, that at least I know was missing. It peeked out once I think. Not long enough to break up the fog hanging over the ocean, but on land we had a couple hours of sun.

Here in Massachusetts, at least in my little corner of it which is near the Connecticut border, we had on and off rain and drizzle yesterday, so everybody cancelled. This morning, there is blue sky and fluffy white clouds. So, perhaps some better weather on the horizon. This tends to be a quiet week in the US of A as many people take vacation.

Last night I watched an interview with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Bobby's son. It was on Bill Maher's YouTube show Club Random, where he interviews people while he, and often they drink and smoke weed. If you thought Bill Maher was a guy that would not shut up when he was sober, well, you should see him drunk and stoned trying to do an interview. Often his guests can't get a word in.

Anyway, RFK Jr. is running for president, as a Democrat, against Biden. He's getting about 20% of the vote right now, which means he is doing better than any of the Republicans running against Trump. He has no shot against Biden and the Democrats in DC and likely a lot of the media are going to pretend he does not exist. Mostly, this has to do with his stance on how Covid was handled here, which causes them to label him a nut, but he is not a nut and likely would destroy any Republican that he ran against because the conspiracy loons that like MAGA, actually like RFK Jr. so he's in an odd position.

I believe he is well aware of where he stands and that he has no shot to be president. He creates too much discomfort with Democrats, which he shouldn't because Trump was the one that oversaw and imposed lockdowns and put the vaccine program on "warp speed", which Democrats backed and so, now they do not want to deal with anybody questioning if they all did the right thing. Plus Ron DeSantis has staked out the spot where vaccines and lockdowns were wrong and so, they all, including Trump, have to leave that little plot of land to him.

Anyway, I enjoyed this interview for several reasons, first RFK Jr. has some good stories, second I like him, and third, you won't see any other presidential candidates on Bill Maher's Club Random show...really, for good reason, but it would be kind of hilarious to see Trump and Biden on it. In fact if there was a Trump vs Biden debate, it would be fun if it happened on Club Random. It is probably the right venue for something like that.

Here it is, if anybody has an interest in watching it. Bobby Jr. tells a hilarious story about J. Edgar Hoover that is worth the price of admission alone. My take is he is a good man in an F-ed up world that is going to anger a lot of people, including the Democratic establishment. He is not anti-vaccine, that is a lie that sadly the mainstream media likes to push, He is pro-science, he is not a conspiracy theorist, nor is he in league with them. He openly laughs at the idea that Biden would get on a debate stage with him, because he knows that the Biden campaign and DNC will act like "Robert who?"

Oh well, enjoy this interview...
