There's a lot of other stuff in the world to ponder and discuss. You are correct, it's pretty black and white, because that's where they went with it. There is a lot of comedy in it too, particularly now, because the Right has become so wildly unhinged and comically self-destructive. If you can laugh at it and I know not everybody can. If you are a sane Republican this has got to be a total horror show for you. If you are not, and I'm not, and you have a sense of humor, and I do, well, I can have some laughs at this.
There is a show on HBO called White House Plumbers, I've been watching it. David has too, if he has stuck with it. It is kind of over the top comical. Sort of mixing Monty Python with real life events. It's funny, and I see the humor in the real-life events. It was not really how I expected them to tell the story but I think the thing is, it actually matches the times we are living in now. We have a cast of idiots in Republican politics that do things that are so over the top dumb, it would be pushing boundaries to sell it as fiction...but it is all true.
Nobody could have imagined this sort of festival of morons and if you were to cast these people in a show, to tell this gruesome tale of pure ignorance, well, you would cast people adept at comedy. These are comic characters we have now. How do you not play Trump, or Greene, or Tuberville, or Gosar, or Gaetz, or McCarthy, or Boebert, Rudy, or Jordan, DeSantis, any of these total buffoons as anything but clowns?
You can't write them in any kind of serious manner. So. at the very least, brother, hopefully you laugh a little at our madness. It will end because I think you can only play pretend with the public for so long. They will start losing them as they go (and have been) because their lies become bigger and dumber all the time, it's just too much to try to sell and maintain it.
It's not as serious as what you have over there. With Putin perhaps dying and waging a war and essentially just choosing how he wants to go out, with a bang or with a whimper. That's a problem that can't really be laughed at...unless you are god. Then it's always funny to you when you kill off a bunch of your creations in one fell swoop. You just call that Tuesday.
