Yes, I mean, I know the songs are written over time and each one is likely inspired or caused by something individual. However, it is strange how once assembled and produced in the way they were, they hang together like it is a concept album. I think David once said that The Waiter was just something he wrote when someone asked "Can you write a song about a waiter?" as kind of a bet.

Ha, in my mind, that song would be the moment in the story where the main character loses his shit. So, I am imagining something that really had nothing to do with the how and why the song was composed. However, that's the nature of putting something out in the world, people find different meanings or ideas from your work. I think of The Waiter as a song about losing your shit, where things breakdown and you are in something way too deep you never meant to be in the middle of.

When you say you never had love in your life, I read that with the wink at the end and hoped you were joking. It can be double edged but when it is right, it is huge. You must have loved someone, come on DS!
