Thanks, Dan. I guess I missed that post 20 years ago. I had not thought about The Crossing Guard in a long time. Occasionally Jack Nicholson pops into my head because I just feel like we don't have actors like that anymore. I ended up watching one of his films I had not seen a couple of weeks ago, Somethings Got to Give. It did not interest me when it came out and honestly, I did not think about it at the time that we were seeing the last few films from him. He acted in only three more pictures after that. Of those, I only saw one of them, The Departed.
I find it interesting that David got to interact with some of the greats. Nicholson was just one of a kind. Vilmos Zsigmond has probably been working as god's DP since 2016. When he got to heaven the first thing Saint Peter said was "So, tell me about shooting Apocalypse with Coppola."
I remember the story David told of playing pool with Chayefsky.
David is an outstanding writer and storyteller himself, and so I am guessing if he has any stories about these guys they will be pretty good.
