David,
First off; thanks for the music over the years. Back in the mid '80's there was nothing like Boomtown during those late night hours, when the ashtrays were full, the people who were erudite and witty several hours earlier are just an irritant, 99% of the music is grating, a few bloody straws are lying about (remember, mid-80's when one could be a beautiful person andn do it, and who knew about that dying stuff). Boomtown always hit just right. And the lyrics always kind of struck me somewhere between Bukowski and Raymond Carver (and maybe a bit of Stan Ridgway). Same for the 2 later albums.
ANYWAY, to cut this rambling a bit shorter, I was hoping I could still get a few copies of A Fine Mess. Also, I have a 'net site that's just getting wrapped up (www.discworks.com), and would be damned honored to have that on our site. I could probably take 15 to start out and we'll go from there (I'd pay you upfront). If you are interested you can e-mail me at [email protected] or call me at home: 704 732-4619.And either way, I defintely need a copy for myself.
Hope all's well,
Little Jimmy Dickens
