I'm another who found David through Boomtown. Such a wonderful song full of fantastic imagery (ah though it wasn't until I read the lyric did I realise he was saying 'hack' - I thought it was headache or something). I bought the album in 87, then spent the next few years looking for other works. In 91 I was in Paris and happened to find Bedtime Stories (I have never seen it here in Australia) which was a treasured find - more wonderful images tinged with nostalgia. Then later I bought Triage in the states, and reveled in the cynicism and pathos (ah Postman). And I have to say the sound quality was just another reason to play it ad infinitum. Curiously I managed to pick up another (battered) copy of Triage in a sale here. A strange bit of trivia - when later in the states in 94 I was searching through old catalogues who claimed there had been a second David and David album.
I am anxiously awaiting A Fine Mess.
