...that I worry too much, Ross. I was not as worried about these midterms as the trends were pointing away from a Red wave and more toward some sort of even split which is pretty much what happened. I also want to be clear that I see voters and elected officials differently. Voters I am not always sure know what they want or what they are voting for, particularly Republican voters. They do seem to fall into this infatuation with whatever is being packaged and sold by their propaganda outlets. This often has them voting against their best interests but I have a hard time blaming them for that when the information they receive is so warped.

Elected officials however, I have a much different take on because they know what they are doing and when they are lying. These people, I would give no pass to. When Donald Trump called Nancy Pelosi and animal and then her husband is brutally attacked in a plot to kidnap and harm her...and almost all of the Republican party says nothing...well...this is a party pushing violent outcomes knowingly and looking to see harm done to people specifically to achieve power and instill fear in the society. Not good, nothing they should get a pass for, and destructive as all hell to the country.

I do not think Ocasio-Cortez is a moron nor do I think the other female Democrats the Right Wing propaganda machine goes after are morons. They also are not at all a danger to the country or anyone in it. They don't push violence nor have a violent mob behind them. Right now I think AOC is going after Ticket Master, not anything earth shattering and not some policy that will have a severe impact on anybody. She's a rookie politician, as are the other "Squad" members, that have little impact on anything. They make rookie mistakes here and there but nothing on the scale of Greene, Boebert, Gaetz, Jordan, Gosar, and the rest of that scum that lie with intent to cause violence and harm and to be destructive to the country.

You can tell me you disagree with AOC or Biden or Harris on policy, I understand that and probably would agree on topics that this may not be the way to go. However, I do not see any of this people intentionally attempting to create chaos in this country...which is the entire MAGA agenda.

And look, you can't really say that the voters have a concern with election security when Republicans have over and over stated and provided proof that our elections since 2016 have been some of the most secure and fair we have ever had. Republican election officials have said this. Trump and his fellow MAGA politicians and the pillow guy have countered that with lies and nonsense and countless lost lawsuits, and have shown not a shred of evidence there was any election fraud at all. This is why there are MAGA voters with election concerns...because they have been sold a ridiculous number of absolutely asinine lies. So, their concerns are a product of that, not of any actual proof of fraud. This along with things like Critical Race Theory, and litter boxes in classrooms, and all manner of amazingly stupid claims trumpeted by Right Wing Media are things these people have been sold and do not even exist. I just can't take these concerns seriously when they plainly are not real. That's a problem.

I would sit down and have dinner with whomever wanted to and have a discussion, but the discussion has to be reality based. You can't have a discussion when one side wants to play pretend. That's not fair. This is the MAGA strategy, make discussion impossible by playing pretend.

Yes, you and I can have dinner and a good talk because I do not think either of us are going to pretend there are things that don't exist happening. I am not sure MAGA voters can or want to have a discussion like that. I have had some dinner and talks with some and frankly, have been kind of stunned at what they have said to me, but I keep trying.

The good news is that it seems most voters in these midterms rejected the MAGA insanity. We are now going to get a civil war, or really an uncivil war, but it is one we need to have and it will be contained within the Republican party. This is where the fight is about to happen and it will be a doozy because on one side you have Trump and his MAGA army, and they do not play nice and have no interest in keeping the peace nor coming together for the good of the party. He and his followers will burn the party to the ground if they can't win.

On the other side DeSantis and the Murdochs and Republicans that see an opening to drive Trump out. This won't go down well because Trump and MAGA are not at all sane. The Democrats won't be involved because Trump won't be coming after them and DeSantis will have his hands full with MAGA. He has announced he is running and his targets now are every single Republican that goes against him...and he will savage them. Just think back to when he was running for president in 2016. He absolutely destroyed every Republican he faced. DeSantis will need to weather that now and so will the Republicans turning their backs on the orange shit flinger.

Get the popcorn ready.
