Agree with the thanks.  This was a wonderful listen, and I'd likely have not known about it but for seeing it here.

I'll share another old story.  Triage came out when I was in college, and I remember coming across an article about it in which I though David came across a bit unhinged.  My memory is fuzzy on this, but mixed in there might have been an article or interview about "Bedtime Stories" where he spoke of at least some drug issues, and I remember it putting me off a little.   I love both albums now and particularly "Triage," both for it's musical and vocal melody side AND for the lyrics (even if I maybe don't go with him all the way on some of the points, I can see bits of truth in there, and I respect him for really going for it).  Also, the less political but more human lyrics on the albums are so finely detailed and moving.  It's an incredible achievement.

So I remember having liked the David & David album but being a bit put off this one from that initial article.  I let it pass me by, but in following Kevin Gilbert's career, I later became aware of that Tuesday Night Music Club album (and liked it) and started thinking about David's work again.  It was at that time that I went back and found first "Triage" and then "Bedtime Stories."  Bill Bottrell's superb production on "Triage" coupled with the raw emotion and power of the lyrics really hooked me.  It was then that I went back and bought the David & David CD, too.  I've been a Baerwald fan ever since.  I think a fellow Kevin Gilbert fan alerted me to the NFU private release, which I got as it came out, and that only put me deeper into appreciation for his art.  Probably really different from me, but I have to admit that it seems like he'd be a fascinating person to sit down and have coffee and and an hour of conversation with.  That'll likely never happen, but I'll keep checking periodically in case there's new music.  Obviously, the book project also looks quite interesting.  Have been planning to get that.

Am I coming across too obsessive here?  :-)
