I suspect that conservatism isn't truly dead, but it certainly smells funny.  Trump, of course, wasn't really conservative at all.  He was a bit of a radical.  As would have been Bernie Sanders.  A true conservative would be all for closing loopholes that allow really rich people or corporations to evade lots of taxes.  A radical (Trump) would implement heavy give-backs to the same population.  A radical (Sanders) would impose so many new taxes on them, that they would escape and take their money to tax havens.  Think that's untrue?  Look at France one President ago.  We need leaders who will keep the (presumably increasingly electric) car on the road.
