Exactly.  They've essentially failed and failed quickly.  And as I might have hoped, they've done real and lasting damage to Trump's brand in the process.  Down here in Texas, you can REALLY feel an ebbing of support from those where still on the train a month ago.  This is kind of what I'd hoped for . . . that his image would get tarnished in a way that severely diminishes his effectiveness and "cult."  We'll see if that comes to pass, but I think that's what can happen.  Will be really interesting to see how or if the Republican Party can reinvent itself.  It may have to.
