Today I drive 75 miles and back to see her: IN ASSISTED LIVING, twice a month.
A stroke left her lost between the here and now, we live in the moment, I refuse to let her leave.
I call her twice a day to see that she doesn't. The memories of our two years together after her stroke are no more.
I take her favorite dinner, Shrimp Salad, we go to a nearby park for a picnic. We take her walker, it's easier for her to get to the table in the sun.
My wife of 61 years died 12 days after diagnosis, I care for this lady I didn't get to.
