Obama pegged it. He (we all?) probably hoped that Trump might grow into the office and take it more seriously. He's certainly pugnacious enough to use that as a strength if he could be more intellectually consistent. Alas, it seems like he's utterly incapable of that. We might argue that Trump's unique flaws are almost singularly bad for the job he now holds. Nov. 3 cannot come soon enough.
