We'll see.  I think the Trump failures are mostly about his lying and hubris.  That lack of leadership permitted things like the bureaucratic mess at CDC to continue since people simply didn't take it all that seriously.  But let's not forget that the biggest blame (if assigning any) belongs to China.  It's not like they didn't have a sort of warning about certain types of food markets 17 years ago when SARS was nearly what COVID-19 now appears to be.  And they did next to nothing.  Had THEY acted more quickly and with less of an eye toward public opinion (as with Trump), they might have even succeeded in containing it there.  But having written that, I'm still amazed at how much BS Trump can spew when speaking off the cuff.   The "truthiness" just isn't there.   Not even sure he's capable of distinguishing truth from the wants of his ego.
