Hear, Hear!

Mitch McConnell is worse than Trump.  In addition to my favorite person to blame for the lack of bipartisanship, Ayn Rand, McConnell, before Obama was even inaugurated, swore to block everything Obama tried to do.

His blocking of Obama's selection for a Supreme Court judge was the epitome of that pledge, emboldening him to where he is today, not even feigning his responsibility from the oath he must take to be a fair and partial judge in the impeachment induced trial of the President,  in whose pocket he would suffocate were it not for an occasional presidential tweet pat on the head.

Lindsay Graham reigns as the inspirer-in-chief of hypocrisy.  One wonders if his bank account burgeoned last year, or if he's just naturally the asshole he presents to the world.

And you are right, the browning of America will reverberate across the political field for years to come.  Fortunately, those with brown complexions refuse to carry the blinding hate in their hearts that white supremacists carry. Their ultimate majority will see, I believe, a return to reason over emotion as fuel for our now threatened democracy.  EXCEPT...

What will be the role of the extraordinary wealth accumulated by mostly American men.  Will it be able to buy the political future they desire?  Cause an amendment to the US Constitution, returning unlimited terms as President? Are Tom Steyer and Mike Bloomberg hints of the future?

And will the Supreme Court continue to be political?  Agreeing to take up the case of Trump's tax returns, for example, when appellate courts said they must be released, letting Trump hide the probable evidence of Senate impeachment conviction.

Many conservation see Trump as an abomination, George Conway, for example.  I pray their voices will prevail.

At no time in my soon-to-be 91 years would I have thought our democracy to be as fragile as Trump as proved it to be. Perhaps in the aftermath of it all--given Putin's current attempt to disrupt all democracies--Trump will have proven to be a necessary kick in the ass.
