Hah! Never made the connection before with the medal ribbons on the Pink Floyd Disk - I recognise the Distinguished Flying Cross and other British campaign medals. Not sure how many of you know that we have a war history museum tentatively called 'Stories of War' or 'Touched by War' or any other suggestion you might come up with. The main focus is to preserve history for future generations through wartime memorabilia and the stories that go with them. It's not about glorifying war - we don't have weapons or bloody battle scenes. We have scrapbooks, photos albums, autograph books, personal correspondence and keepsakes. We also have uniforms, model planes, aviation and naval prints and a big library. It has been a wonderful experience for us - have met some fabulous people including WWII veterans and those from more recent conflicts. On Monday we are expecting 35 Viet Nam Veterans. Everybody has some connection to war through a past family member or friend. Here's hoping the current events in Ukraine don't escalate.
