Thankfully, not all of our best minds die taking their accumulated knowledge with them, most bequeath following generations the generosity of their writings or filmmaking or song....

Or maybe I'm missing your point that our best minds are not those that put what they have learned into words, contemplative monks...which changes the flow of evolution, stops it until contemplative truths are put into a form that inform.
