I think it's enormously naive (and presumptive) to assume there is some sort of monolithic "media" that
has as its purpose "to control the masses." To believe that means that there also has to be some form
of planning and control that I quite frankly think is beyond the capability the people with the power to
do so. If you want to go down the path of the media being part entertainment, part news, I'm right with you.
And the way that media sources with a point of view can selectively pick facts or outright lie to make a
point is conceded. But I do not concede the larger point that the media is deliberately out to distract.Rather, I think there is a clear profit motive involved, and this drives everything.Respectfully,RS
